Emptiness

Powerful statement, isn't it? But for most of us, it hits home, and hits hard. Especially for those of us suffering from the many facets of depression. It feels like everyone is just walking away from you. They aren't really. They just don't know what to say or do for you. Your moods and temperament can change so rapidly, that it literally scares them sometimes. It's not as if you mean to be that way. And a fortunate few will at least have the compassion still enough to apologize for the way they acted.
It's difficult to say which ones will make it. There's no cure for depression. You never just "get over it," ever. It is a constant feeling, just like breathing. Doesn't mean you should lose all hope tho. You can learn to manage it. Learn to control it. Learn to show your depression that you control your life, and that the depression no longer controls you. You might feel like you're weak and cannot do this, but you couldn't be farther from the truth. The fact that you get up everyday and make an attempt at just being alive, that takes a lot of strength. Believe me, I know. I've been there. It can get better. But the decision is yours.
